Personal Safety Classes

R.A.D./Self Defense

The R.A.D. Systems of Self-Defense will help you make an educated decision about resistance on the premise that a spontaneous violent attack will stimulate a natural desire to resist on the part of the victim.

As part of our comprehensive program, you will be provided with a copy of the R.A.D. for Men or R.A.D. for Women reference manual. The manual outlines the entire physical defense for review. Our officers also offer SAFE classes, which are a condensed version of the R.A.D. for Women program. Classes are free and open to all Northeastern-affiliated students, faculty, and staff on a first-come, first-served basis. All participants must be 18 years old.

Register by email at or you may register in person, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at NUPD headquarters.
