Community Resource Dogs
Northeastern Police has two remarkable canine companions that play vital roles on campus. Sarge and Cooper contribute to a safer and more comforting campus environment and are beloved by the Northeastern Community.

Cooper, an English Cream Golden Retriever, was the first canine to join the department, in 2021. Cooper specializes in emotional support and Search and Rescue, and is a huge resource to our students, staff, faculty and to our neighbors in the local Boston community. Cooper was trained by Golden Opportunities For Independence (GOFI) in Walpole, Mass.

Cooper and Sarge love to make appearances and one-on-one visits with staff and students. However, they also need their rest in order to play their role and frankly, cannot be everywhere, all the time.
