Emergency Medical Services

Immediate attention for acute injuries and illnesses from officers trained in medical care

Responding to Medical Emergencies

All full-time uniformed members of NUPD are certified in CPR and trained in providing first responder emergency medical care. Most officers are certified Emergency Medical Technicians.

NUPD works in close partnership with University Health and Counseling Services, Boston Emergency Medical Services, contract ambulance services, and various area hospitals to provide on-scene assessment and treatment, emergency medical transportation, and follow-up services.

If you are having a medical emergency while you’re on campus, contact NUPD emergency line at 617.373.3333 to receive immediate assistance.

For additional information on recognizing medical emergencies, please see the Medical Emergencies section of the website.

NUPD and campus partners also provide CPR and various medical response training courses to the Northeastern community.
